The  nationwide search for the the Ultimate Sooo Pinoy Blogger who can best promote Filipino cuisine through his blog is on a roll! Here are the search for the  Sooo Pinoy Blogger mechanics, round specs, and important dates:

Sooo Pinoy is inviting all bloggers to join its Search for the Ultimate Food Blogger for chance to go on a once-in-a-lifetime food trip - an all-expense paid journey to ten beautiful Philippine destinations to dine in more than 101 different Filipino restaurants. Truly, a foodie’s heaven!

The Search for the Ultimate Sooo Pinoy Blogger is part of the Sooo Pinoy advocacy to heighten appreciation and awareness for Pinoy food. After the successful launch of its Facebook community (www.facebook.com/SoooPinoy), Sooo Pinoy will now tap the blogger community to promote Filipino cuisine.

Composed of three rounds, the Search will not only measure the bloggers’ writing skills but their ability to engage readers as well. Each round is designed to test the bloggers’ creativity and passion for the advocacy. Ultimately, the winning blogger should be able to encourage Pinoys to discover our cultural identity through Filipino cuisine with articles that will leave readers hungry for more.

ROUND 1

Objective: Determine how passionate the blogger is about the advocacy and how creative he can be in promoting it.

1. Post an article about Why Should You Be the Ultimate Sooo Pinoy Blogger. The blog post must have a minimum of 300 words and a maximum of 500 words, with at least 3 food shots and a photo of you dining in the restaurant. These are just the minimum - there is no limit as to how much you want to express creativity!
2. Take a screenshot of the blog entry and email it to Sooo_Pinoy@yahoo.com. The email must also contain the blog post URL, the contestant’s name and mobile number, and the blog article itself (preferably in .doc or .docx format)
3. The blog post must not be altered or deleted until the end of the Search (until December 15).

Key Dates for Round 1 

• October 5 to 24 – Submission of entries (3 weeks)
• October 25 to November 5 – Round 1 judging period (2 weeks)
• November 7 – Announcement of shortlisted contestants and Round 2
• Challenge.

ROUND 2

1. Each blogger will be given a list of restaurants to choose from. They will have to choose a restaurant and set a meeting with the owner/manager.
2. Each blogger is tasked to research about the chosen restaurant and share with his readers how it became an integral part of the Sooo  Pinoy advocacy. The blogger can explore the key dishes that made the restaurant known for, the restaurant’s history and
3. culture, what makes it unique, etc.
4. The blog post must have a minimum of 300 words with at least 3 photos of yourself and the chef you interviewed. These are just the minimum - there is no limit as to how much you want to express creativity!
5. Take a screenshot of the blog entry and email it to Sooo_Pinoy@yahoo.com. The email must also contain the blog post URL, the contestant’s name and mobile number, and the blog article itself (preferably in .doc or .docx format)
6. The blog post must not be altered or deleted until the end of the Search (until December 15).

• November 7 to 20 – Submission of entries for Round 2 (2 weeks)
• November 21 to November 28 – Round 2 judging period (1week)
• November 29 – Announcement of qualified contestants who will proceed to the next round and the challenge for Round 3.

• One question to be answered by all the remaining contestants. Question to be revealed on November 29.

• November 29 to December 7 – Submission of entries for Round 3 (1 week)
• December 8 to December 14 – Round 2 judging period (1 week)
• December 15 – Announcement of the Ultimate Sooo Pinoy Blogger!

All entries must be received before October 24. Entries will be judged according to creativity, quality of the write-up, and popularity among readers. Only those who pass the first round will continue to rounds 2 and 3 in the hope of becoming the Sooo Pinoy Ultimate Food Blogger.
